About the Biomechs
The Richmond High School Robotics program gives students the opportunity to experience, work, and learn in the engineering field involving science and technology. Not only do the students learn about the field but they also get to interact with other students and work with each other as a team. This process takes action during the six week competition called FRC Regional. FRC allows teams to learn and build a robot within those six weeks.
The Richmond High School Robotic team attended the First Robotics Competition (FRC), which challenges leagues from every division. When it's time for the regional, they send a kit with information about the robot that should be constructed. The team has six weeks to complete the robot and get it ready for presentation/competition. After completion the team later has to present it to a large crowd of people. The robot is utilized in many different courses and has different abilities every year. In order to build a robot, students are engaged in the following subjects: - Math (algebra, geometry, trig, calculus) - Science (physics, chemistry, experimentation) - Language arts (writing, public speaking) - Business (marketing, PR, fundraising) - Finance (accounting) - Computer Science (programming, 3D animation) -Fabrication (woodworking, metalworking) - Mentorship: Working side-by-side with professionals If you want more information about FIRST click here: |
